The most common pivot and the most competitive. The route runs through TS or valuations, a lateral analyst or associate seat, and a technical bar that is higher than for graduates because you should already know accounting.
Corporate law → private equity or M&A
Deal exposure is the asset; modelling is the gap. A structured plan closes it in months, and the story about why you are leaving law has to be exactly right.
Engineering, tech or quant → hedge funds and S&T
Your numeracy is assumed; market intuition and communication are what get tested. Preparation is desk-specific, which is where our practitioner bench comes in.
Consulting → private equity
The classic route, with a narrow window. LBO modelling, investment judgement and a case-based interview style that differs from what you are used to.

Some people need nothing more than that. Most follow with the Sprint to close the technical gap and rehearse the interviews.

Should I do an MBA or MSc first?
Sometimes. It is expensive and not always necessary, and a bad reason to do one is 'I don't know how else to get in'. This is exactly the kind of question the strategy call exists for.
